# Best Practices

> Make the most of your Connect Widget integration with these practical tips.

Depending on your needs, you can use the widget for:

* **Aggregation:** Let users connect their external financial accounts so you can show all their finances in one place.
* **Verification:** Confirm account ownership or eligibility for funding, payments, or identity.

## Quick Tips

These tips help you get started, whether you're aggregating accounts or verifying them:

* Put calls to action (CTAs) in high-traffic areas and use clear, jargon-free labels.
* Don't hide the widget in menus or low-traffic spots.
* Add a short message that explains the widget's value before users interact with it.

## Build Trust

Help users feel secure and supported:

* Brand the widget with your colors (contact MX for help).
* Use [supported dimensions](/connect/#minimum-dimensions-and-breakpoints) when embedding the widget.
* Enable app-to-app on mobile by setting `enable_app2app` to `true` in your widget URL request.
* Offer support options such as FAQs and chat.

## Engage Users

These tips help users complete the flow, no matter your use case:

* Put CTAs in high-traffic areas and use clear, jargon-free labels.
* Don't hide the widget in menus or low-traffic spots.
* Add a short message that explains the widget's value before users interact with it.
* Keep the steps to connect or verify accounts as simple as possible.
* For mobile, send push notifications to encourage users to finish.
* After completion, show users their connected accounts (Aggregation) or a confirmation (Verification).
* Customize the top institutions in the widget if needed (contact MX for help).
* Plan to reengage users who don't finish the process.

## Track Metrics

Measure your results and keep improving:

**For Aggregation:**

* Connected users: How many users have linked at least one external account.
* Accounts per user: The average number of accounts connected per user.
* Account types: What types of accounts users are connecting (for example, checking, savings).
* Connection types/institutions: Which connection methods and financial institutions are most used.
* Success rates: How often users successfully connect their accounts.

**For Verification:**

* Job duration: How long it takes to complete a verification.
* Jobs per month: How many verification attempts happen each month.
* Success rate: The percentage of successful verifications.
* Speed per job: The average time per verification.
* Type per month: The types of verifications performed each month.
