Testing OAuth with MXCU

Use the MXCU (OAuth) test institution (institution code: mxcu_oauth) to test OAuth flows in the integration environment.

In the integration environment, a user can only have one OAuth member.

  1. Select MXCU (OAuth) from search, or load the Connect Widget via current_institution_code: "mxcu_oauth". You'll see the following screen before redirecting to the OAuth provider. Screenshot of OAuth connection screen where you select continue.
  2. Sign in at the test OAuth provider using these credentials:
    • Username: mxtest
    • Password: testpassword
  3. That will take you to the authorization page. From here, you can choose which accounts to authorize:
    • Select Authorize to simulate a successful authorization.
    • Select Deny to simulate an error or denied authorization.

While the MXCU (OAuth) test institution lets you choose which accounts to authorize, this behavior can vary between real institutions.
