Deposit Attrition

Deposit Attrition returns checking account attrition information that you can use to understand at-risk customers and target them with message campaigns.

High-Level Overview

The high-level overview shows the current month's risk situation:

  • Number of customers in each risk tier
  • Total deposits that these customers represent (at risk of being lost)
  • Annualized interest revenue associated to these customers (at risk of being lost)

Risk Reason Codes

Risk situations are reported in the overview using reason codes. Reason codes contribute to the risk score for each tier. One customer can have more than one reason code. Because of this, the total number of customers in the reason codes section will appear inflated compared to the total number of customers at-risk.

The reason codes are:

  • Drop in activity
  • Low balance
  • Dormant for 6+ of the last 12 months
  • Dormant for 3+ of the last 6 months
  • Tenure for less than 180 days
  • Removed direct deposit
  • Drop in balance
  • No transactions for 12 months

External Relationships

This section of the dashboard shows a breakdown of the top external relationships discovered or aggregated for at-risk customers.

Campaigns

The Deposit Attrition dashboard helps identify at-risk customers and understand the reasons behind their risk. You may use this information to create targeted campaigns with personalized incentives or interventions.

Use the dashboard's cards to filter to the customer segment you want to target. Then, use the Create Audience button to create an Audience that can be used to send a Message.

Example audiences could be based off combinations of:

  • Risk tier
  • Reason code(s)
  • External relationships
  • Overall value to the institution

Message Types

You may use a variety of Message types for your campaign:

  • Mobile
    • In-app notification/push notification
    • Banner ad
  • Insights
    • Insights feed widget
    • Mini & Micro widget (if configured)

General Message strategies could include:

  • Targeted offers: Provide personalized incentives.
  • Proactive communication: Reach out to high-risk customers to address concerns or offer support.
  • Product recommendations: Suggest products or services that might better meet the customer's needs.
  • Loyalty programs: Reinforce the value of existing relationships.

You can track campaign performance for Created, Viewed, Clicked and Dismissed events on a campaign within the Message details page.
