November

Connect Widget

We've enhanced the institution connection screen to better highlight a successful connection:

  • Replaced the institution’s logo with a filled checkbox icon.
  • Added a confetti animation to celebrate successful connections.
  • Made a few other minor visual improvements for a better user experience.

Financial Insights

Users can now unhide insights they’ve hidden.

We've also added a new insight, Direct Deposit Switch, that identifies direct deposits in aggregated accounts and prompts the user to switch their direct deposit to their held account. This insight encourages users to take action on their finances by leveraging direct deposit partners to streamline the switching process.

Connectivity

As MX continues our transition to Google Cloud, you may soon notice an improvement in the completeness of our data providing future benefits in overall data quality, processing efficiency, and ultimately improving insights derived from the data.

Connect Widget

We added a navbar to the Connect Widget that contains a back button to direct end users to the previous UI. This button is present on most screens. Examples of screens that don't have the button include the connecting screen, connected screens, and MFA screens.

Member Use Cases

If you've implemented the Connect Widget to support PFM and money movement use cases, you can use the use_cases field on applicable requests to ensure:

  • Each member is associated with a specific use case.
  • Our PFM and Insights products reflect data only for members with the PFM use case.
  • Members with "use_cases": ["MONEY_MOVEMENT"] do not aggregate transaction data.

In the Connect Widget, this change impacts the flow of new members and existing members.

This is only available for Nexus & SSO API integrations. You must work with MX before enabling this functionality.

See the Connect Widget docs for more info.

Financial Insights

We added a Set Up Direct Deposit insight that detects held accounts that don't have a direct deposit coming in and prompts the user to set it up.

Investment Data

We launched our new Investment Data product that enhances and normalizes investment holdings data, providing actionable insights into your customers' portfolios.

See the docs for more info.

August

Connect Widget

The No Eligible Accounts screen is shown when there are no valid demand deposit (DDA) accounts on the member. We've consolidated the actions to one button instead of two and updated the error messaging so users can better understand their next steps. When the user clicks the Try again primary action button, the user is automatically navigated to our institution search screen. If you have search disabled, you can still listen for the Back to Search Widget Event to navigate the user to your desired experience.

Customer Analytics

To help manage audiences used in Marketing Hub campaigns, we’ve launched an Audience Service API. You may retrieve a list of audiences, get a count of members of an audience, and download a list of available audiences in CSV or JSON formats.

Data Access

For data provider implementations, Data Access now has an API to support building your own Consumer Consent Management Dashboard UI. Use this new API so that your consumers can manage which third parties have access to their data from your mobile app or online site.

Financial Insights

We've added a new insight: Monthly Obligations Status. This insight informs users if they are on track/off track to pay off their monthly obligations.

June & July

Mobile

We’ve added an integration with Paymentus (formerly Payveris) to enable end users to transfer money to/from an external account within our Mobile Banking app. End users are also able to view their historical transfers and modify their scheduled transfers from the mobile app.

May

Client Dashboard

You can now set up a SAML SSO login for our Client Dashboard. See our guide for more information.

Connectivity

Effective May 28, 2024, the First Republic Bank (FRB) institution will no longer be available for new AGG and IAV connections. In addition, updated balances and transactions will be only available via a connection to Chase.

  • FRB has been acquired by Chase
  • FRB Checking, Savings and CD accounts will be migrated to Chase over Memorial Day Weekend
  • Loan accounts will be migrated to Chase later this year

FRB users with an existing Chase connection may see the migrated accounts automatically appear in their existing Chase connection. If not, users may need to re-authenticate with Chase and consent to share the migrated account.

Important things to note:

  • Any existing FRB connections will remain available, but any new transactions and updated balances will only be available through a connection to Chase.
  • User’s old transactions from their FRB accounts will be on their Chase accounts.
  • However, MX will only receive the previous six months of their transactions – anything beyond six months will not be ingested.

Customer Analytics

We've made the following improvements to the Primary Score page in Customer Analytics to more accurately reflect the financial engagement of your customers:

  • Enhanced primacy score calculation. The Primacy Score will now include an additional point for customers who have one or more Retail Loans.
  • Export list additions. The Number Retail Loans field is now available for export. Additionally, we've surfaced the 30 Day Login Flag for export.

  • Enhanced feedback menu in the Insights Widget. Users can now select predefined feedback from a list or write a comment.
  • Monthly Emergency Fund Review insight. This new insight shows users a monthly summary of their emergency fund progress and encourages them to keep saving.

We've updated the Monthly Top Merchant Spending v3 insight to no longer include checks from held accounts.

Mobile

We’ve released a few new features with our Mobile product:

  • Improved syncing messaging. When the user opens or logs into the app, the app will download the user’s account, transactions, personal finance management data, and sync/update all dashboard cards. This also removes the previous “Sync Bar” and replaces it with a “Syncing” note that can appear on any dashboard card and will help users better understand what in the app is syncing.
  • Running balance totals on transactions. We added a running balance that can display within the Transactions tab of the Accounts Details for held accounts. This feature lets users see their balance for every transaction on an account. It sorts the transactions based on the posted date.
  • Pending transactions. Pending transactions are now clearly labeled as "PENDING" in the following locations:
    • Transactions card on the Dashboard
    • Transactions page
    • Transactions tab after selecting an account

April

Connect Widget

We updated the UI/UX in the Connect Widget to provide searchable institutions in a four column tiled state. End users will find it easier to locate and identify their desired institution when connecting their accounts.

Customer Analytics

We added the following reports:

  • Deposit Opportunity: Provides visibility into direct deposit users to help increase the number of primary financial services users and total amount of deposits on hand.
  • Deposit Variance: Provides specific direction into where consumers have relationships to give you a better idea of where you can win business.
  • Saving Account Attrition: Provides a view into the health of various saving account products over the last 12 months.

Data Access

We created an easy-to-navigate list of all your data intermediaries. This gives you the ability to drill down into each intermediary to view the steps for materials and contact info needed to onboard them. Find more information in our user guide.

Financial Insights

We updated the Low Account Balance insight and added the Emergency Fund Withdrawal insight.

Mobile

You can now see the following insights directly on your transactions in the mobile app:

  • Bill Amount Not Standard
  • Subscription Price Increase
  • Duplicate Payment
  • Fee Detected
  • Large Transactions

Tapping on an insight in a transaction will open the full details of the insight.

March

Microdeposits

We now automatically delete stale or inactive microdeposits after 90 days. Clients can request a report to confirm when and which microdeposits have been deleted. See Microdeposit Data Retention.

Connect Widget

We added a new postMessage: Invalid Data. The postMessage is triggered when there are no valid demand deposit (DDA) accounts on the member. See PostMessage UI Events.

Financial Insights

We've released our Micro Widget! Smaller than the Mini Widget, the Micro Widget still offers a carousel of insights that users can swipe through. This widget can be as small as 200px in width. Its size makes it the perfect widget to embed in multiple interaction points within your user experience to drive engagement. See the Micro Widget.

February

Customer Analytics

  • We’ve updated the navigation menu. If you’re a customer analytics client, you can now experience an improved flow to get you to your reports even faster. If you’re a Customer Analytics and a Data Access client, you can now find both of your products in the same navigation menu.

Connectivity

  • We’ve expanded our coverage for several of our products including Account Owner Identification and Extended Transaction History, which will improve the Connectivity experience for these calls, and improve initial conversion for multi-product aggregation calls. Connect Widget
  • In approximately 90 days, we will be changing the method in which clients handle disabling search in the Connect Widget. We will add a new postMessage: mx/connect/backToSearch. Clients that disable search in the Connect Widget will be required to listen for this postMessage to determine when clients have selected a button in the user experience that would lead them to the search for institution user flow. Upon the release of this feature, documentation will be provided.

Client Dashboard

Compliance Documents are now available in the Client Dashboard and all Community members have been migrated.
