Notifications

When using the mobile app, users can receive a variety of different notifications related to their account activity. Notifications appears as a bell icon at the top of the app. The icon also shows the number of unread notifications in the feed. When end users select this icon, they’ll be sent to the feed and see a list of their notifications grouped by date.

Our notifications can use one or more of the following delivery channels:

  • Email
  • SMS
  • In-app
  • Push

Some notifications don't use every delivery channel.

The following notifications inform the user when their data enters an uncommon state.

NotificationDescription
Duplicate PaymentNotifies the user when a possible duplicate payment was detected. Checks for transactions that have the same date, amount, and merchant.
Exceeded BudgetNotifies the user that they have exceeded a budget. When clicked in-app, this opens to the mentioned budget in Budgets.
Fee ChargedNotifies the user of a fee charged on one of their accounts. Users can choose which accounts they want to be sent this notification for. When clicked in-app, this shows the transaction details.
Goal ProgressNotifies the user when they have contributed to or reached a milestone within a goal they set.
International TransactionNotifies the user that an international transaction was detected. When clicked in-app, this shows the transaction details.
Large DepositNotifies the user of a deposit that was made. Users can choose which accounts they want to be sent this notification for. For each account, users can also change the threshold that determines what's considered a large deposit. When clicked in-app, this shows the transaction details.
Large ExpenseNotifies the user of an expense they made. Users can choose which accounts they want to be sent this notification for. For each account, users can also change the threshold that determines what's considered a large expense. When clicked in-app, this shows the transaction details.
Low Account BalanceNotifies the user of an account and its balance if it has dropped below a threshold set by the user. Users can choose which accounts they want to be sent this notification for. For each account, users can also change the threshold that determines what's considered a low balance. This notification won't trigger again until the account rises above the threshold again. When clicked in-app, this shows the account’s details.
OfferThis notification can be customized to have any title, description, and must use a predefined icon. MX must create this notification for you. This notification will appear as a push notification and as an in-app notification. When a user selects the push notification on their phone, it will open the mobile banking app. When clicked in-app, custom offer notifications can either do nothing or send the user to a custom URL.
Payment ReminderNotifies the user that a payment is due. Users can choose which accounts they want to be sent this notification for. For each account, users can also choose the due date.
Projected to Exceed BudgetNotifies the user that they're projected to exceed a budget. When clicked in-app, this opens to the mentioned budget in Budgets.
