Transactions

Transactions shows a list of the end user’s data-enhanced transactions which include related info like amounts, merchants, tags, memos, and more.

The mobile app automatically categorizes each transaction. Transaction categories are helpful for other features like Budgets and Spending. Some transactions will be labeled Uncategorized. When this happens, end users will need to manually add a category to the transaction.

Transactions are always shown over a given date range. During the first account synchronization, a larger number of days (typically 90) will be shown. During later synchronizations, a smaller number of days of transactions (typically 15) will be shown.

Transactions that have posted, meaning they're no longer pending, are grouped by date. Each will show a name, a category like “Personal Care,” or “Gas,” and an amount. If a transaction was a credit to one of the end user’s accounts, the amount will have a plus sign and be green.

When shown as a dashboard card, end users can see their three most recent transactions made from all their accounts.

When shown in its full view, end users can:

  • View all their transactions (pending transactions show at the top, grayed-out and italicized).
  • Filter their transactions by accounts, amount, date, merchant, category, types (hidden, flagged, income, split), tags.
  • See and edit transaction details such as a transaction’s category, date, memo, and tags. When end users manually change a transaction category, a prompt will appear asking the user if they want to apply that new category just one time or for all future transactions of the same type. If the end user applies this rule to all, they’ll see the rule in Settings > Transaction Rules.
  • See an insight related to the transaction, if available. Tapping on an insight in a transaction will open the full details of the insight.
  • Hide a transaction from Budgets and Spending.
  • Split a transaction into multiple categories.
  • Mark a transaction as flagged.
